Brilliant work again from Democracy for Sale - these shady lawyers involved in SLAPPS get very uppity when thy are caught out. Take no notice of them but continue to pressure Government to prevent SLAPPS ever destroying our democratic systems of oversight and accountability - using the law to silence people. Keep at it and involve you supporters in spreading the word about what SLAPPS is-remind people about the big cases that have been silenced and the big legal firms (some of who have long featured in Private Eye), who are keen that no SLAPPS legislation proceeds - Remember Government is slow and when it comes to complexity, even slower. Don't let them drop this ball. Speak to the new Makerfield MP when he gets elected as well. It was a travesty that it was NOT in the King's Speech, particularly when he had just returned from the US where he had highlighted what is wrong with a society that allows democracy to slide into protecting the privileged privileged and silencing the disadvantaged.

Quite simply Peter, you and your fellow courageous colleagues are doing "God's work". You are not only 'on the right side of history' but you are instrumental in changing my grandchildren's futures for the better. I salute you and I have never been more proud to support you.

O dear, I wonder why they are complaining?

Surely they don't doubt Westminster's ability to legislate fairly on this difficult area?

Well done, and also to this government for moving forward, hopefully effectively.

You know you’re doing the right thing when these letters turn up. I wonder if these thugs have heard of the expression: sunlight is the best disinfectant.’ Peter and team are bringing the sunlight. Kaboom!!

Remember when the UK (whilst Sunak was Chancellor (ie the UK Treasury has to give permission)) allowed Putin's then bestie, Yevgeny Prigozhin to initiate a SLAPP suit on UK investigative journalist Ben Elliot, founder of Bellingcat? Who's side actually are they on?!
