Thank you. I have been watching in despair as dark money from such sources has been flooding into the coffers of the most extreme sectors of British Unionism here in Northern Ireland. First seriously noticeable with the exponential rise of fundamentalist mega churches in the late 1990s. Then again starting after the 2008 financial crisis into local business and politics. These wealthy US far right individuals playing at owning global politics pose a quite particular danger to the uneven and fragile peace here. During the racist riots in the UK this summer when Musk commented on his social media platform that ‘civil war was inevitable’ he was probably in touch with his Northern Irish contacts on the ground. Many of whom are demobilised soldiers from the Iraq, Afghanistan conflicts ‘finding peace incredibly tedious’ with mates in our huge number (more than when the Belfast Agreement was signed) of loyalist gangs.

I can only assume that British Intelligence and the governing class in London are still asleep at the wheel regarding this development. Perhaps the appointment of Jonathan Powell as national security advisor to Starmer will begin to change the direction Northern Ireland is headed.

… and I’ve just been reading on another post about “questionable” funding going into APPG’s. The corporate corruption is spreading.

Let's be grateful though when we get some little victories. The Restore Trust slate failed to make it on to the National Trust council this year again. It annoys me that we all have to keep on voting against them to prevent them getting a foot in the door, as they have at the RSPB, but if that's the price, I'm certainly ready to keep on getting friends and relatives motivated to add their votes to keep the snakes down.

However, I haven't seen much progressive publicity this year warning of the danger, so I wonder if you could do as much as possible to remind us all to get out and vote in future years.

Especially as the Torygraph will never miss an opportunity to push the reactionary agenda to all its remaining readers who are Trust members.
